Learning Platform

Context

EDU is Europe’s first digital medical school. EDU’s vision is to increase the quality and accessibility of medical education via its innovative approach of blended learning which combines studying at the digital campus with clinical rotation in hospitals.

Problem

  • The overall UI design and feel of the learning platform is outdated.

  • The current UI design is not flexible and user friendly to add new features.

Objective

Revamp the UI/UX of the learning platform considering the current UI/UX trends and give it a fresh and flexible look.

User Interface Design

The UI design gave the platform a modern and consistent look by applying the new background color and design style to all pages.

Modular components ensured flexibility for future updates, while accessibility features like improved contrast and navigation enhanced usability.

Each page was systematically designed and tested with the development team, resulting in a fresh and user-friendly platform aligned with EDU’s vision.

High-Fidelity Prototyping

  • High-fidelity prototypes were developed to visualize the updated design and test key interactions.

  • Using Figma and Adobe Xd, I built clickable prototypes showcasing essential features like course navigation and progress tracking.

  • After several interview rounds with the product and development teams, the simplest and most effective design was selected.

  • These prototypes provided a realistic preview of the platform and helped validate usability before implementation.

Wireframing

The redesign began by defining the information architecture of the home page supported with a new layout and followed by the new background color to create contrast, making elements stand out more effectively.

Later wireframes were created to structure key screens such as the dashboard, course modules, and schedule pages.

Through collaboration with the product and development teams, we focused on simplifying navigation and ensuring the layout was flexible enough to support future updates. The final wireframes provided a clear plan for the platform’s improved functionality and user flow.

User Feedback & Refinement

Feedback from students, faculty, and stakeholders helped identify improvements in navigation, visual hierarchy, and accessibility. Iterative refinements were made in collaboration with the product and development teams to ensure the design met user needs and platform goals.

Implementation & Launch Support

The design team collaborated with developers to provide assets, resolve technical challenges, and maintain design accuracy. After implementation, we supported the launch with testing and post-launch adjustments to ensure a smooth and successful rollout.
